However, due to their appearance, material properties, and structures, these alloys were not aesthetically pleasing. With the development of material capabilities, composite fillings were produced, allowing fillings made on teeth to be the same color as the tooth. This ensured the color and form integrity of the teeth, creating an aesthetic appearance. This was one of the first steps in cosmetic dentistry.
